Tragic Accident Leaves 4 Dead on Kakata-Gbarnga Highway

first_imgThe two vehicles collided head-on while speeding Four people were pronounced dead over the weekend as a result of a tragic motor accident, which occurred along the Kakata/Weala highway in Margibi County.The two vehicles, according to eyewitnesses, were speeding excessively when they ran into each other head-on, thus killing four of the occupants.The incident occurred on Friday, July 6, around the Konola Vai Town community area when a Nissan Pathfinder (Silver color) bearing license plate #A-51288 en route from Gbarnga to Monrovia collided head-on with a Nissan Sunny (Green) Station Wagon, plying in the opposite direction from Kakata to Bong County.According to medical accounts from the C.H. Rennie Hospital in Kakata, J. Obley Copper, Martha B. Carter and Mercy Sumo were recorded “dead on arrival” (DOA), while another female victim, whose identity is yet to be established, died few hours after she was admitted.The other vehicle in the collision in Konola Vai town communityAt least four other people were injured. They include Julius Dunor, 20, Oldman Fwegar, 39, Henry Kollie, 18 and Timothy Saar, 30. They are currently undergoing medical treatment at health centers in Margibi and Montserrado counties. Bengal pacer Ashok Dinda hit on the head during practice match at Eden Gardens

first_imgBengal pacer Ashok Dinda was hit on the head while attempting a caught-and-bowled chance during Bengal’s Twenty20 practice game at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Monday. Dinda was practicing with the Bengal team under the guidance of consultant VVS Laxman.The incident took place when Birender Vivek Singh played an uppish drive straight to Dinda, who attempted the catch on his follow through. The ball hit Dinda’s hands and ricocheted to hit his forehead.Dinda was seen lying on the ground with his hands on his forehead as teammates rushed to his help.
