Ingle and Wendell Travel To Women’s Basketball Final Four

first_img“I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to attend the combine,” Ingle said. “It was a great experience to play with and against a few of the best players in the nation. I learned a lot and am excited to continue working on my game as I strive to play at the next level.” Ingle, selected for the prestigious WBCA ‘So You Want to be a Coach’ Program, participated in a three-day long series of roundtable discussions and networking events with other aspiring coaches and ones who have already established their footing in the industry. On Saturday, April 1, Ingle traded in the business attire for basketball garb. She was joined by Wendell, not to mention a handful of other elite players in the country, to participate in the Pro Hoops Combine held at Southern Methodist University’s Moody Coliseum. “It was an awesome experience,” Ingle said. “I was able to meet and learn from some of the most influential people in women’s basketball. I am so grateful to Drake and the WBCA for the opportunity to attend such a prestigious program.” “I also feel really lucky to have gotten this opportunity,” Wendell added. “We got to play with and learn from some of the best in the game. Overall, it was just a great learning experience.” Seniors Caitlin Ingle and Lizzy Wendell of the Drake University women’s basketball team may have wrapped up their final seasons as Bulldogs, but it wasn’t long before they laced up again. The two traveled south to Dallas, Texas where they were greeted with even more basketball buzz at the premier event of women’s college basketball – the Final Four – last week. As if their careers boasting a regular season championship, tournament championship, longest win streak in school history and a trip to the Big Dance wasn’t unforgettable enough, add this experience to the mix. Print Friendly Versionlast_img read more
