About 45-50 women and a few gentlemen attended.To mark this very special occasion a video was shown of the launch of the Global Women’s Peace Network with special emphasis on the different topics that were delivered by WFWP International President, Prof Yeon Ah Moon and other women leaders from different women’s organizations.Mrs. Felicity Cairns, president of WFWP NZ gave the opening remarks and thanked every-one for their generous donations, support and participation throughout the year. She highlighted the fact that women has a very important role to fulfil in the peace building process and that essentially that process begins at home in the family.Mrs. Tracey Dean and her husband, Elijah presented a beautiful hand crafted Korowai Frame to WFWP NZ as a symbol of the Launch of the Global Women’s Peace Network that was held in Auckland on 14 September 2015. Tracey and her husband are Ambassadors for Peace and work in their local community in the Waikato, South region, NZ. Elijah explained that he crafted the frame from inspirations that he received while crafting. The multi-colored feathers symbolize the different women’s organizations and women leaders from the many groups that would comprise the global women’s peace network. The wood that was used is native to NZ. By FFWPU New Zealand, Andrew Halim: To close a fruitful year of 2015, all providential organizations in New Zealand gathered in an End of Year Event that also celebrates the festive season of Christmas. About 120 members, Ambassadors for Peace and guests came together at Jubilee Building, Parnell on Saturday, 19th of December; upon which a joyful celebration that encourages the atmosphere of a global family took place smoothly.The evening comprised of a family dinner, followed by a short video presentation of all the events held by Unification Movement that took place in 2015, and a plethora of beautiful and creative entertainments and games. The event was also an opportunity to recognize a hard-working member deserving of receiving the Unification Member of the Year Award, namely Mr. Leon Pogoni.The Movement in New Zealand truly appreciates the contributions and cooperation of all members and guests who were willing to participate and support the many events and activities we held for the sake of the community around us. May the end of this year be a good foundation for an even better year ahead of us.
